Pedro grew up around upholstery. As a boy he watched his father pull tacks, stretch fabric and shape foam, learning the trade in the only way it can really be learned — by doing it, every day, for years. When he opened Artistry Upholstered in Sarasota, the promise was simple: bring that old-world craftsmanship to the Gulf Coast, one piece of furniture at a time.

Today the workshop on Independence Boulevard handles everything from a single dining-chair recover to full custom sectionals, marine vinyl on center-console boats, leather restoration on heirloom Chesterfields and floor-to-ceiling upholstered wall panels for luxury bedrooms across Sarasota, Lakewood Ranch and Longboat Key. We work with designers, with boat owners, with restaurants, and most of all with homeowners who want something done right.

How we work

Every project starts the same way — with a conversation. We'll come look at the piece (or you can send photos), talk through what you want to keep, what you want to change, and what fabric or leather will hold up to how you actually live. You'll get an honest, written estimate, a realistic timeline, and a single point of contact from start to finish. No surprises, no pressure, no upselling.

In the workshop we strip your piece to the frame whenever the work calls for it — checking joints, re-tying springs, replacing foam where it has lost its life. Then we hand-cut the new fabric, pattern-match the pieces, sew the cushions and the welts, and tack everything down with the patience a beautiful finish deserves. The result feels like new furniture, often better built than what you'd find at retail today.

Materials we love

We source from trusted mills and tanneries — performance velvets, heavy-duty linens, top-grain leathers, marine-grade vinyls rated for the Florida sun. If you bring your own fabric, we'll work with it; if you want help choosing, we'll happily sit down with samples and find the right pairing for your room, your light and your lifestyle.

We are based in Sarasota and serve the whole region — Sarasota, Tampa, Bradenton, Venice, North Port, Lakewood Ranch, Palmer Ranch, Siesta Key and Longboat Key. Pickup and delivery is available throughout these areas, and our showroom in Sarasota is open Monday through Friday.
